Luxury Hotel in Japan's Historical Capital to Focus on Very High-end Guests
April 22, 2008
Nara, the historical and cultural center of Japan, will be the site of an internationally focused hotel aimed at the higher end of the tourist market along with visiting dignitaries and other affluent travelers. A group of 30 representatives from 20 real estate development organizations attended an information and proposal bidding session at the prefectural meeting hall this month to hear from the government the purpose of such a venture. The plan to develop the hotel is part of a business and enterprise development plan similar to that which was enacted in Tokyo's Minato Ward.
As part of a plan to celebrate their 1300th anniversary, the prefecture is aiming to develop the very high-end hotel in order to attract APEC ministers and foreign dignitaries along with domestic VIP guests. While a closing date for proposals has been set, the prefectural government made an appeal to those in attendance for dynamic proposals suitable for this type of venture.
